1. Drink water

Water! This is something you probably hear all the time, but drinking water first thing in the morning is a great way to rehydrate your body after sleeping. Whether it is water by itself or warm water with lemon slices, you will feel more awake and ready to start your day. I love starting my day with a few slices of lemon in warm water. I have been doing this for six months now and I find it really helps me start my morning right.

2. Eat a balanced breakfast

Breakfast food is my favourite. Making yourself a healthy breakfast is a great way to start your day. Not only can you get some of your recommended serves of fruit and vegetables it will also help control your blood sugar level throughout the morning which in turn helps control your energy levels.

3. Exercise

It may seem hard to begin with but incorporating 30 minutes of exercise with a raised heart rate is beneficial. It will also help kick-start your metabolism. I find doing my 30 minutes or more of exercise in the morning helps me to keep accountable and stop me finding excuses not to do it at the end of the day.
